Established in 1906 | First Burial in 1835
What began as a family cemetery on land owned by pioneer settler Charles DeWitt Gibson—following the death of his mother, Cathrine Wasson Gibson (1768–1835)—was later donated to the people of Grand Blanc as a public cemetery by his son, Chauncey W. Gibson, in 1906.
The Gibson Memorial Chapel, donated by Chauncey W. Gibson in 1923, is considered the last remaining Gibson structure in Grand Blanc.
Maple Cemetery is now owned and operated by Grand Blanc Township.
